2022 Dry Creek Zinfandel

Dry Creek Valley

Winemaker's Notes

This fruit is hand harvested from a family estate in the southern Dry Creek Valley, in the early morning hours before the crisp air has lifted and while light has not yet broke into day. The fruit arrived at the winery in excellent condition; bright, round and juicy clusters. This fruit is 100% destemmed and hand sorted where it then made its way to a smaller fermentation vessel. This Zinfandel is punched down three times a day throughout primary fermentation. Once primary fermentation was completed, this Zinfandel was pressed and barrel into mostly neutral oak but does feature 30% new oak. This wine was barrel aged for 16 months and blended together with select barrels to combine the beauty and nuance of this bright and incredibly balanced Zinfandel.

Tasting Notes

Our Zinfandel showcases the warm, inviting character of Dry Creek Valley. Opening with aromas of brown sugar, cedar, and delicate iris flower. Vibrant fruit of red plum and sweet cherries accents the palate. Framed with gentle tannins and refreshing acidity creating a smooth and approachable finish. Its profile and structure make it an excellent choice for both casual sipping or to enjoy at the dinner table. We suggest pairing with hearty pasta dishes, grilled meat and vegetables, or aged cheese like gouda.
