Our 2018 fruit was hand harvested between the second and third week of October from three different blocks all located on the Kreck family estate in Alexander Valley. Each of these blocks was harvested at 26° brix, creating a balanced and uniform ripeness that shines through this charismatic blend. The Reflections blend was aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak. These barrels were carefully chosen to impart the exquisite aromatics and plush, supple fruit characteristics that make up this meticulously crafted wine.
This exceptional red blend opens with the aroma of freshly preserved Bing cherries, sweet tobacco and ginger candy. Once fully expressed, it releases rich notes of dark chocolate and blooming rosemary blossoms. This red wine is a shade of deep garnet and brilliantly opaque. On the palate, this wine starts as a plush summer plum, juicy and perfectly balanced between soft and bright acid. The tannins are pronounced but refined, as it evolves to a soft, velvety finish. Once fully opened, this wine generously offers flavors of spiced cake, blackberry compote and toasted macadamia nuts. Our Reflections blend captures the essence of a meticulously crafted red blend as it combines the opulent and complex flavors and aromatics that are gently preserved through barrel aging and carefully handcrafted winemaking.
This wine pairs exquisitely with a freshly shaven truffle pasta, a well-seasoned filet mignon, or even a wild-berry galette.
