The grapes for our Santa Rosa Rosé are located just in front of the tasting room on our 65-acre estate in the Dry Creek Valley. The estate location is influenced by the cool fog from the Russian River Valley and the summer heat of the Dry Creek Valley. By harvesting on 9/22/2023 at only 22.2 Brix, we capture bright fruit and floral aromas associated with an early harvest. This year’s vintage is predominantly Merlot with 4% Zinfandel creating a balance of acid and finish. Fermentation is conducted in stainless steel tanks between 60 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit and using Cross Evolution Yeats which helps create this crisp, refreshing style of Rosé.
This beautiful wine shows a fresh aromatic bouquet of rose petals and orange blossom, summer strawberries and mandarin which leads into a palate of crisp citrus, ripe strawberries, and peaches. The finish is clean and crisp, leaving the palate with a refreshing reflection of flavors. This versatile wine pairs well with savory ham, cured meats, summer salads, and soft cheese with honey. Alternatively, it’s the perfect sipping wine to unwind on a spring or summer day.
