2024 Heather's Cuvee

Estate, Dry Creek Valley

Winemaker's Notes

This bright, floral wine is an elegant blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer, both grown on the Mill Creek estate in the Dry Creek Valley. Harvested approximately one week apart from each other, the Sauvignon Blanc was picked ripe in the last week of August, 2024, with the Gewürztraminer following shortly after. Both wines are created and bottled separately in addition to being part of this creative homage to winemaker Jeremy Kreck’s mother-in-law, Heather.

The Sauvignon Blanc undergoes whole-cluster pressing, carefully monitored to preserve floral and mineral nuances. The Gewürztraminer, destemmed early in the cool morning hours to maintain delicate aromatics and acidity, is gently pressed to highlight its fresh, subtly spicy minerality. This wine is preserved in stainless steel for four months and is bottled in the middle of winter.

Tasting Notes

Heather’s Cuvee opens brightly with aromas of citrus, lime blossom, and fragrant honeysuckle, evoking the freshness of spring and cool summer mornings. On the palate, vibrant notes of orange blossom honey, creamy key lime, and nuanced minerality unfold. The initial creamy texture gives way to crisp acidity mid-palate, finishing gently with soft, ripe peach tones. This radiant wine pairs beautifully with lemon salmon piccata, watermelon mint and feta salad, pear tartlets, or a leisurely Sunday brunch.
